“To kill a mockingbird “in GCSE English Literature revision

This is the first and only novel by Harper Lee, written in 1961 and adapted into a film in 1962.

The novel, set in Alabama (USA) during the years of the Great Depression, has the racial injustice as main theme.

Over 80 years later, writers keep telling stories about racism in America in those years. One of the later novels is “The Help”, also adapted into a film.
