GCSE English - Romeo and Juliet

30th April 2014

Romeo and Juliet, is one of Shakespeare's most notorious works. There have been several film adaptations, and our favourite is the Leo DiCaprio version. (Although the 2013 one with Douglas Booth was okay too).

It's a tragic tale of forbidden love, which has been honoured in many songs. Such as Dire Strait's ' Romeo and Juliet' (and the popular The Killers cover) so it's worth learning about.

We've got our own revision song on the gcse subject so have a listen here; http://learnthrumusic.co.uk/subjects/

Interestingly, there are lots of phrases around today which derive from the play such as 'on a wild goose chase' or 'fool's paradise'.
